Wing Commander Irving Scott AFC RAF Collection. Scott was born in 1924 and joined the RAF in 1943. His Military career including serving as:
An instructor at RAF College and at CFS,
A flight commander with 152 Squadron,
An Air Staff Officer in Cyprus,
Officer Commanding SAM Evaluation Unit,
OC Flying Wing Stradishall,
Naval and Air Attaché at HM Embassy Belgrade. Scott was qualified in seventeen aircraft including the Spitfire, Lancaster, Meteor, and Dominie. This collection includes:
Medal Group consisting of an Air Force Cross (and case), The 1939-1945 Star, The France and Germany Star, The 1939-1945 War Medal and General Service Medal with Cyprus clasp, together with the associated miniatures,
A silver and yellow metal cigarette case,
7 toz, presented to Scott by his commanding officer, John Hawtrey, bearing an inscription 'To Twitch, my perfect P.A.... 1946', together with a photograph of both and a signed photo of Hawtrey,
A silver mounted cigarette box bearing the inscription 'From the Officers, Royal Air Force, Cranwell,
A silver plated tankard bearing the inscription 'Presented to Wing Commander I. Scott by the Commandant & Officers of the Central Fighter Establishment 1963-1965 and a similar pewter tankard,
Two Service pocket watches,
A silver and enamelled RAF sweetheart's brooch worn by Scott's wife,
A chromium-plated and enamelled Central Flying School Association car badge,

A group of records and certification including six Pilot's Logbooks. In one book, Scott records his role piloting a Horsa glider during Operation Varsity (a map of the landing spot is also included),
An extensive collection of 1950/60's monochrome photographs depicting test planes, RAF personnel etc. including a photograph of the Bristol Brabazon,
A collection of monochrome photographs from Scott's diplomatic career,
A Visitors Book from Scott's home in Belgrade containing details of many visiting diplomats, together with his diplomatic passes,
A silver-plated tray presented to Scott on his retirement by the Association of Military Attaches, Belgrade
