Mid Century Design

Friday 21st February
Commencing at 10:30am

Mid Century classic designed furniture and collectables have proved to be very popular with buyers looking for something out of the ordinary to furnish their homes. Our contemporary sales are jam-packed with British, Scandinavian and American designs by 'outside of the box' thinkers of the 1950s through to present day.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Please read the following information carefully before bidding.

Friday prior – 9am to 8pm,
Saturday prior – 9am to 5pm,
Thursday prior – 9am to 5pm,
Morning of sale from 9am

One important difference between an auction and a retail shop is that all goods are sold as seen. Lots could have faults or missing parts so it is very important that you carefully inspect items you are interested in buying before the sale takes place. There are no guarantees given when buying at auction. The absence of a condition report does not constitute a guarantee.

A buyers’ premium at 17.5% plus VAT, will be added to the bid price of each lot.
Lots purchased online will in addition attract a 5% plus VAT fee.

We regret that we are unable to process requests for condition reports received after 1.00pm on the day preceding the sale.

All lots constructed using Brazilian Rosewood are sold with the appropriate CITES certification – further documentation can be obtained from the auctioneers. Purchasers are warned that a new certificate will be required for resale or export purposes.

In certain instances, where an artist is still alive, royalties can apply under the Artist Resale Right Regulations 2006. If these regulations apply, the buyer of the lot agrees to pay the auctioneer an amount equal to the resale royalty and we undertake to the buyer to pay this sum to the artist’s collection agent.

Illustrated catalogues are available for all Mid Century sales. (£5.00 by post). These sales can also be viewed on–line 10 days prior to the auction.

On sale day until 5pm and on the following Saturday, Monday and Tuesday from 9am to 5pm.

On successful purchase of items at auction, payment of your invoice should be made via any of the following accepted methods of payment as per our terms:

• Cash
• Debit card (in person)
• Direct bank transfer (details on invoice)

Note: We do not accept any form of credit card payment or any type of card payment over the telephone.

Attention is drawn to the Auctioneers Conditions of Sale. In particular, it is emphasised that all accounts must be settled on the day of sale. Please always remember that the lots purchased are at your own risk from the fall of the hammer, it is therefore in your own interest to get everything paid and collected as soon as possible.

(i) confirm that you are authorised to provide these credit card details to the auctioneer and have sufficient funds available to complete the transaction.

(ii) agree to abide by the auctioneer’s conditions of sale and special terms and conditions as stated in these particulars and on the online bidding platform.

(iii) agree to make payment via the methods and timescales stated above at the completion of the auction and authorise the auctioneer that on failing to do so the credit/debit card given may be charged in part or full payment, including all fees, for items successfully purchased.
